Our Journey
In 2021, a visionary trio – Dr Alberto Troccoli from the World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC), together with Prof. Marco Borga and Dr. Mattia Zaramella from the University of Padova – joined forces to launch Inside Climate Service (ICS). This collaboration, sparked during the EU H2020 SECLI-FIRM project, was more than a meeting of minds; it was the genesis of a pioneering venture in climate services.
Founded on the principle of combining scientific excellence with practical application, ICS draws on the expertise of the University of Padova and the global reach of WEMC. Today, ICS works across energy, agriculture, water, insurance, infrastructure, and education—reshaping the way climate science supports society.

Bringing decades of applied research, a global perspective, and an innovative mindset, Dr. Troccoli guides ICS with a focus on impactful climate solutions. He is also the Co-Founder and Director of the World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC).
Prof. Marco Borga — Co-Founder & CTO
A renowned academic at the University of Padova, Prof. Borga brings world-class expertise in hydrology and climate risk, providing scientific rigour to ICS’s technological development.
Dr. Mattia Zaramella — Co-Founder & COO
