We express our gratitude to the participants!

The aim of this Webinar was to showcase the global climate products that the C3S Global Energy Climate service is producing, including their processing: bias adjustment, wind speed scaling, temporal downscaling, exclusion layers and spatial aggregation.

The C3S Energy service is being developed with funding from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) which is implemented by ECMWF on behalf of the European Commission.

The C3S Energy service is also developed through a partnership with the lead contractor Inside Climate Service S.r.l. (ICS), and subcontractors ARMINES, EDF, EVEROZE and ENEL, with input from energy sector stakeholders.

The Webinar was chaired by Dr Alberto Troccoli (Founder & CEO of ICS), with contributions from major experts in the energy and climate sectors. As a key-stakeholder, opinions and expertise were crucial to the discussion. Through questions & answers, every participant had the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the C3S Energy Climate service.

Join us and get the opportunity to:

  • Engage with experts in the climate and energy sectors
  • Take part in the discussion
  • Gain insights into using climate data to support energy transitions
  • Explore the ongoing initiatives within the C3S Global Energy Climate service.

Target audience: Industry stakeholders, regional/national/international organisations, climate and energy modelling researchers, climate and energy service providers for the energy sector.

Dr Nube Gonzales-Reviriego

Nube Gonzalez-Reviriego is the Energy and Agriculture Technical Officer of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). She has a PhD in climate and extensive experience in co-developing and implementing climate services for different sectors (including renewable energy, agriculture, health) with both private and public institutions. She has participated as a climate services scientist in many national and European projects and is currently involved in the operational delivery of C3S services to the energy sector.

Prof Alberto Troccoli

Prof. Alberto Troccoli, co-founder and Managing Director of the World Energy & Meteorology Council and CEO of Inside Climate Service srl, brings over 25 years of expertise in meteorology and climate applications in the energy sector and beyond. His distinguished career spans NASA, ECMWF, CSIRO, and the University of East Anglia among others. Alberto is a prolific author, including UN’s World Meteorological Organization publications and leading the Copernicus Climate Change Service’s Energy operational service. He leads the development of the Teal tool (https://tealtool.earth), a platform for visualizing climate data. Alberto holds a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Edinburgh.
