Teal Tool: Explore Climate Data Easily
Teal is a free online tool that lets you explore climate data for the whole world from 1950 to near real time, as well as future climate projections, without needing technical skills.
You can choose a climate variable (such as temperature, rainfall, wind or solar radiation), select a time period (yearly, seasonal, monthly or daily), and view the results on an interactive globe or flat map at global, country and sub-country level.
With just a few clicks you can:
- See how the climate has changed over time in your region.
- Compare different areas of the world.
- Look at possible future climates under different emission scenarios.
- View graphs and download the data for your own use.
Teal is designed for everyone, from students and citizens to decision-makers, and does not require specialist technical skills. It is developed by the World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC) and Inside Climate Service (ICS), powered by Copernicus, and supported by the European Commission, the Copernicus Climate Change Service, SECLI-FIRM and FOCUS-AFRICA.
The public Teal tool is free to use in a web browser. To get started, open the Teal website, choose a variable and a location, and explore the maps and graphs. You can then download the data to use in your own reports or analysis.
